Small effort to salute our Nation, Bhartah Maa and big salute our Indian Flag… from Rainathon.
We just need break from our daily heavy work schedule. We show more enthusiasm to take family out for vacation. But the sad part is we just forget to respect our nation on Independence, most of us don’t even stand when flag hoisting is taking place, we don’t even remember ‘Jana Gana Mana’ National anthem, even after it is awarded as world’s best anthem. We have just forgotten the people who sacrificed their life for making our country from free from British.
On the occasion of independence day, We buy flags just to keep our pride up for a couple of Hours, sometimes just because of our children demanded and sometime it is available road side just for Rs 10, 15, 20. What we do end of the day we throw the flags here and there. We at ‘Rainathon’ initiated movement…. ‘Respect Indian Flag’. ‘Rainathon’ group of like-minded people decided to join together and collect the flags thrown by the great Indian citizens.!!
On 15th Aug 2014 afternoon we assembled near Queen Victoria Statue, Bal Bhavan, around 3.30 PM, and collected the flags thrown by the people. We collected approximately 100 flags on following roads; M G Road, Kastruba Road, St marks road, Residency Road, Vittal Malya Road, Brigade Road, Cubbon Road.
How it worked:
Team of 4 walked across the above road collecting the Flags thrown by the people and joined back near Queen Victoria Statue, Bal Bhavan.
